  • Sighisoara. Also located in Transylvania, Sighisoara is one of the best places to visit in Romania due to its beautiful preserved walled town. During the 12th century German craftsmen and merchants, The Transylvanian Saxons, were invited here by the King of Hungary to settle and defend the frontier. They established a thriving trading town here and the citadel visitors see today. It was later extended and enlarged in the 14th century. Every July a Medieval Festival takes place in the old citadel. The landmark of the city is The Clock Tower, a 64 meter (210 foot) high tower build in 1556.
  • Sibiu. Sibiu, once part of Hungary, dates back to the early 12th century. The city is located in Transylvania, an area that is associated with vampires, including Dracula, but it’s highly unlikely that visitors will run across any in this day and age. Instead, travelers will find the Grand Square, in use since the 15th century, and Baroque buildings, including Brukenthal Palace, home to one of the oldest museums in the world. Visitors may also want to be on the lookout for remnants of old fortifications used to defend the city hundreds of years ago.
  • Brasov. Located in central Romania, Brasov boasts everything from dynamic modern city life to old world charm and fascinating scenery. Surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains, the city is considered a mountain resort, with skiing and ice skating facilities. A top sight is the Black Church, a Gothic cathedral so named because smoke from a huge 17th century fire blackened the stones. Visitors also may want to take a stroll down Rope Street, which is the narrowest street in the country.

Italy   Italy is a traveller’s paradise. From snow capped mountains to lazy Mediterranean beaches and from unspoilt villages to bustling cities, it has something to offer every visitor. Being a history buff, I decide to visit Rome, Florence and Venice on my trip to Italy.   Rome, the capital of Italy is also called the ‘Eternal City’. My first stop is the Vatican City. Here I visit the Sistine Chapel, the official residence of the Pope, and St. Peters Basilica, one of the greatest churches in the world. I come out of the cathedral and stroll around the square, built by Bernini, soaking in the beauty of the place. My next stop is the Colosseum. Built for 50,000 spectators, it is the biggest amphitheatre in the world.   With canals for streets, Venice is truly unique. The perfect way to see the beauty of Venice is to lose oneself in the labyrinth of its alleys and canals. I fulfill my long standing dream by taking a gondola ride down the Grand Canal. World Time

At the traveling time, it is often necessary to adapt to local time, especially when transferring to another transport. I am very interested to know where I am going: to the 'future' or to the 'past', and for how many hours. The time zone map helps with this. I only need to click on country to see the time!

Places I've visited in Czech Republic

Prague. This gem of the Vltava river has an 1100 year history of being culturally grand and important. Prague has been the capital of Bohemia and of the Roman Empire. It flourished during both the Gothic and Renaissance eras. It is still the largest city in the Czech Republic and one of the most culturally rich and diverse, and has architectural and artistic highlights from many different centuries and architectural aesthetics.  Prague  is one of the top ten most visited European cities, with a good look at the tapestry of a millennium of architecture. Top sites include architecture like castles and cathedrals, the picturesque Charles Bridge. Lovers of Kafka can see his home and the cemetery where he was buried.
